2 years now as a black belt, and I remember looking at your videos as a young (38 year old) blue belt and getting so inspired when you would say "you'll be there soon". Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge and fuel my and others inspirations to this day.

TRANSFORM YOURSELF COMPLETELY

Thank you for your interest in exploring the art of jiu jitsu more deeply. My name is Roy Dean, and I’ve created something really special with my Legacy Jiu Jitsu Collection

The videos in The Collection don't just teach you. They transform the way you THINK about the art. You’re going to be a different person if you study all of it.

You’ll see the art differently.

If you’re not familiar with me I’m a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with additional black belts in Judo, Aikido, and Japanese Jujutsu

But it’s not about the rank.  It’s about the transmission.  How you explain things, from different angles.

In this Collection, I take 3 different angles explaining how jiu jitsu works:  The Belt Series (white belt to black belt), Conceptual Instructionals, and an archive of Live Events and Seminars

The White Belt Bible gives you an overview of techniques from the 3 most successful schools of jiu jitsu in the 20th century: Kodokan Judo, Aikikai Aikido, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Blue Belt Requirements shows you the fundamental positions, movements and techniques to get started in BJJ.  It shows you exactly what you need, based on fundamental movements.

Purple Belt Requirements explains the idea of your "game" in jiu jitsu, which is a set of personalized techniques for every position, and mastering timing and momentum through the use of your legs.

Brown Belt Requirements shifts your perspective from what to do towards the quality of movements and how well you do it.  Pressure and precision are the qualities to develop, along with patience and persistence.

Black Belt Requirements isn't just for brown belt going for black.  It's for anyone who wants to pass on the art.  9 lesson plans are demonstrated, showing you the best practices of teaching to keep the art alive.

Both Blue Belt Requirements and Purple Belt Requirements were reimagined and rerecorded in 4K, resulting in new versions.

They are both standalone instructionals, but also complement and expand on the original versions.  Of course you'll receive all of these with The Collection, plus No Gi Essentials.

No Gi Essentials excels at explaining the “game theory” of jiu jitsu, No Gi Essentials is a simple guide to submission grappling, or jiu jitsu without a uniform or jacket.

The Belt Series is its own adventure.  The next angle The Collection takes on explaining the art of jiu jitsu is conceptual instructionals

These are less about the techniques shown or implemented, and more about why someone would choose to move one way over another way.

It exposes you to another’s thought processes.

Ways to approach the game.  Strategy and tactics.  Pure Rolling 1, and Pure Rolling 2, Black Belt Edition are long form examples of this.

You may be watching this video because you saw one of my black belt demonstration videos.  My teacher, 7th degree black belt Roy Harris, was one of the first Americans to receive the black belt rank, and is one of the very few to expect a dynamic belt exam.

I’ve been through many of these totally unscripted exams, and offers the same rite of passage to my own students, if they choose to do so

This is a very unique and inspiring format in the world of jiu jitsu.  We want you to explore this world, and reach your full potential.

It takes many informed angles, and many teachers, to understand the art.  I’m still learning, still refining, and you’ll see that evolution in The Collection

Finally, we have seminars.  Over the last 15 years, I've meticulously recorded seminars and retreats from around the world.

Learning jiu jitsu is a call to adventure

It provides a reason to travel, a path to  explore the larger world, and make friends along the way.

This kind of opportunity could be yours if you really study this Collection, invest in the art, and do the work to elevate your game.

The Legacy Collection is a proven educational progression (if you’re willing to do the work), and a cleared, reliable path in a world of endless technique.

Get Inspired with The Collection, transform your understanding, and Discover Who You Are.
